Belek

Belek is a sand-beach resort 35 km east of Antalya Airport, built around golf courses and large family hotels. The nearshore gradient we measure is 3 percent, so the water stays shallow well out from the waterline — the opposite of Kemer, 95 km southwest. The trade-off is that Belek is a resort strip rather than a town, and there is very little to walk to.

What works

  • Sand beach with a 3 percent entry gradient — shallow water well out from shore
  • 38 minutes from Antalya Airport, the shortest transfer on this coast
  • Sea holds 27 °C into September
  • Five championship golf courses within the resort strip

What does not

  • A resort strip, not a town — there is almost nothing to walk to
  • Price index peaks at 149 in August, the highest in Antalya Province
  • You will need a taxi or a hire car for anything outside your hotel
