Terms of use

This site publishes computed estimates. They are produced carefully and their methods are documented, but they are estimates, and you should treat them as one input among several.

No warranty

Figures are derived from third-party open datasets whose coverage and accuracy vary by region. A gradient computed from a 115-metre bathymetry grid is an interpolation, and we say so on the methodology page. Conditions on the ground change; datasets lag.

Things you must verify yourself

Visa requirements, baggage allowances, driving licence rules and anything else with legal consequences must be confirmed with the official source before you rely on it. Where we publish such information we cite the source and the date it was checked.

Content reuse

Underlying open data carries its own licences, listed in the footer and on the methodology page — OpenStreetMap data is ODbL and requires attribution. Our own text, computations and diagrams are not for republication without permission.
